Course Overview

Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharmacy) is a 2-year full-time course affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). The goal of the D Pharma course is to give students the information and abilities needed to work in pharmacies, hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, and other healthcare settings as pharmacy technicians or assistants. 6-month internship after this course is a crucial step in preparing students for professional practice and fulfilling the requirements for registration as a qualified pharmacist.

What You Will Learn

The course is structured to provide a balance of theoretical knowledge of core pharmaceutical subjects:
• Year 1: Focuses on subjects like Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Social pharmacy where students learn about drug formulation, natural medicinal sources, and chemical properties of drugs.
• Year 2: Covers advanced topics like Pharmacotherapeutics, Biochemistry & Clinical Pathology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy law & ethics, Hospital Pharmacy, and Community Pharmacy, emphasizing drug interactions, patient care, and pharmacy ethics.
After completing the 2-year D. Pharmacy course, a 6-month internship in a medical store, hospital pharmacy, or other approved healthcare setting is mandatory.
